Fashion Sense 101: The Chin Strap Is The New Black!

Hi,

Today is Abraham Lincoln's Birthday.
When I was a kid we used to get a day off from school in celebration.
Or, since he was unceremoniously shot in the head it guess it would probably be more like a day off in remembrance right?
Anyway, now he just gets lumped in with all the other presidents. Which is fine. Because really, it's not like he was a great writer, did anything special for the country or shares his birthday with other super
cool people right?

Today is also the day that Alexander McQueen died.
His life is being honored by the entertainment elite via

"RIP Alexander McQueen, a beautiful soul and a genius at so many things."

picture of her with McQueen.

No one is really sure if she was honoring the designer or if she doesn't even know who the hell he is and simply riding the coattails of mourning in order to promote the live debut of Mother Feather this Saturday at Rockwood Music Hall.

Today I learned, on PRI's The World, that the Croix language does not have words like He and She to differentiate between male and female.

And speaking of people that nobody cares about anymore, Casey Shea will be celebrating the 36th revision of his forthcoming album: "What's The Hardest Thing About Rollerblading?" with a performance at (shockingly!!!!) Rockwood Music Hall. That's gonna happen tonight at 11pm. As if you've got nothing better to do.

  1. I like how Courtney Love's comment is more about herself than about the guy who died. It's like "I tried to help him...ME, COURTNEY LOVE, offered to fix his life...and he STILL died!!! Some people are just beyond reaching, I guess..."

    I try hard to maintain respect for her, but only because I'm scared of having a nightmare where Kurt Cobain calls me a misogynist for thinking his wife turned out to be a real waste of space.
